CONCORD — Through arts, kickball, music and more, AmeriCorps members marked AmeriCorps Week 2025 with a day of connection and engagement at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.Â
The Day of Service, March 12, was the main event of this year’s AmeriCorps Week, and featured 33 members from City Year NH, Lakes Region Conservation Corps, Manchester Excels and Granite State Education Corps. Members donated a total of 99 hours of volunteer time during the Day of Service. The AmeriCorps Week 2025 celebration, March 9-15, is part of a nationwide initiative to highlight the impact of national service in tackling local problems.
Members carried out service to honor veterans by sanding flag boxes that will eventually be given to families, writing thank you letters and engaging with residents through sitting kickball, musical performances and card games.Â
In 2024 1,963 members and volunteers served across 233 locations, leading to $6.1 million invested in Granite State Communities, according to an AmeriCorps report of National Service in New Hampshire.
