LACONIA — Supporters from across the state gathered last month for Lakes Region Uncorked, a charity-tasting event featuring local craft beverages and food, benefiting the Lakes Region Community Services Foundation.
“The generosity of the local Lakes Region community blows us away every year,” said Rebecca Bryant, president and chief executive officer of Lakes Region Community Services Foundation. “We were able to grow our sponsorship and donations, thanks to 29 of our local community members and business. Because of their support, Uncorked 2019 brought in over $65,000, with a net income of over $51,000, which benefits the critical needs of LRCS’ programs and services.
“This year, we were able to use the 2018 funds raised to host an educational retreat to enhance the quality of care our direct support professionals offer to the individuals supported by the LRCS.”
Events Coordinator Emily Ferrer said, “Uncorked is a fun evening out for guests to network, relax, and have a great time. This year, as the event has grown, so [have] the attractions. Guests enjoyed sampling the finest craft beverages and specialty foods from 34 local vendors, taking their pictures with fun props at the selfie booth, bidding on unique silent auction items, having a private meal at the Celebrity Chef Presentation featuring Chef Kaylon Sweet of Osteria Poggio, winning a bottle of wine at the Blue Ribbon Raffle, and enjoying a delicious ‘Spirits and Sweets’ dessert pairing from Chef Zach Smith of Flag Hill Distillery & Winery. Uncorked is truly is a unique event and an evening to remember.”
