CONCORD ― NH LAKES, a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving the health of New Hampshire’s lakes, has appointed Peter Alpert to its board of directors.
A retired New York attorney, Alpert brings decades of legal, governance, and nonprofit leadership experience. During his career, he practiced real estate and commercial law and served on the board of a New York charitable organization that provides housing for adults with disabilities, where he served on the audit and finance committee and chaired the legal committee. He also currently serves on the North Shore University Hospital Patient and Family Partnership Council.
Alpert’s connection to New Hampshire began in childhood, when he spent summers at his family’s vacation home on Webster Lake in Franklin. In 2004, he and his family purchased a vacation home on Wakondah Pond in Moultonborough, where they enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
“I joined the board of NH LAKES because we all have an obligation to maintain and preserve our lakes as a resource for future generations,” said Alpert.
"We are thrilled to welcome Peter to our team,” said NH LAKES Board Chair Jim Dexter. “His professional expertise, cdedication to service, and deep personal connection to New Hampshire’s lakes will strengthen our work and expand our impact across the state.”
Established in 1992, the mission of NH LAKES, a statewide, publicly-supported nonprofit organization, is to restore and preserve the health of New Hampshire’s lakes. Learn more at nhlakes.org, email info@nhlakes.org, or call 603-226-0299
