PLYMOUTH — Transport Central announced Bill Bolton has joined their organization as their new executive director. Bill and his wife Denise are long-time Plymouth residents, and have raised their four children in the house they built 20 years ago in Plymouth. Bill retired from employment with the State of NH after a 30-year career that ranged from being a lab scientist and assistant director of the Public Health Laboratories, the chief of the staff that supported the state’s Certificate of Need Board, and the state registrar and director, Division of Vital Records Administration under the Secretary of State. While Bill worked for the State, he earned a commercial driver’s license so that he could become the driver of Buckboard Transportation’s 18-passenger commuter bus that originated in Plymouth and transported employees to and from work in Concord. After his retirement in 2008, he became an at-home software implementation manager, working with all 57 states and territories to install a national software suite that collected and reported Vital Records data.

With more time on his hands with his retirement, Bill focused on his community and volunteered for several municipal boards as well as non-profit organizations. He was elected to Plymouth’s Select Board in 2013 and is its current Chair. He is also chair of the Pemigewasset River Local Advisory Committee, and has served on Plymouth’s Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Energy Commission as well as the Boards of several nonprofit organizations.

Bill’s experience, organizational skills and his love for his community will be great assets as he begins his career as Transport Central’s executive director.
