LACONIA — Rev. John C. Blair will take the pulpit on Sunday, Aug. 10, at St. John’s on the Lake.

Blair is a retired United Methodist minister who earlier served with the Uniting Church in Australia and as a Flying Padre Bush Pilot in the Outback. His wife Becky served with the Royal Flying Doctor Service as manager of the Wesley Music Centre and as leader of the NH Friendship Chorus to Australia and New Zealand. Blair has served as pastor of churches in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and as the director of the U.M.C. Atlanta District Counseling Service.

St. John’s is a summer chapel located on Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee, built in 1927 of island stone. Stained glass windows and a birch communion table add to its rustic charm. It can be reached from the docks in Deep Cove; for the boat taxi, contact bear.island.church.ferry@gmail.com.  All are welcome, as are well-behaved dogs.
