Her GP told her it was likely a harmless cyst and she was referred to a dermatologist to have it removed.

"Looking back, it's hard to think she was going through that without us knowing."

The new test was developed by scientists at California-based City of Hope, a nonprofit cancer and diabetes research and treatment center.
