It is the first time that dinosaur eggs have been dated using carbonate uranium-lead dating.

Until now, scientists believed that squids only began to flourish after the mass extinction event that ended the age of dinosaurs.

The marine creature appears to be from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
