To The Daily Sun,
For years now Gilmanton has fought tooth and nail to keep its citizens in the dark about the extent of police misconduct in our community and what departments have done to create accountability. The public should know how the town's selectmen ignore allegations of misconduct, because without that information there is no way to know if misconduct is being ignored or covered up. It shouldn't be that the crooks that run Gilmanton get to decide the investigation into a police chief with years of allegations and wasting taxpayers' dollars.
I urge all citizens of Gilmanton to release the results into the investigations into the police chief and bring this knowledge to the people who pay their hard earned money to make sure our town stays safe.
Former police officers covering for their "brothers in blue" have only made the situation worse and are completely incompetent to perform their duties as selectmen, divulging information to the community.Â
