To The Daily Sun,

The Home Possible Project aims to address concerns regarding our project to create supportive housing for adults with developmental disabilities. After reviewing Gilford town tax maps and talking to town officials, we assessed several town-owned properties, and the Alvah Wilson Road property was determined to be most appropriate and available.

The property is not all wetlands and has been evaluated by a New Hampshire certified wetlands scientist, affirming a suitable buildable area devoid of wetlands. Pending passage of Warrant Article 27, subsequent evaluations, surveys, site plans, and regulatory approvals will be pursued. This thorough and stringent process by experts will occur before the project proceeds.

We intend to place most of the property in conservation for protection and initiate a conservation program for residents and volunteers.

There are 1,200 students and staff around the Sprucewood Drive area every school day and our 10 residents will have minimal impact on traffic. We could easily schedule movements at off peak traffic times, and not drive through the Sprucewood neighborhood.

Regarding noise, the residents of the proposed home are quiet, and out in the community every day doing great things. Our home will be approximately 350 feet from the closest residence.

There will be a private driveway to the residence and no other special town services are required. No town funding will be used for construction, operation, or maintenance of this project.

No construction will begin until the necessary funding is in place to complete the project. Should funding not be secured, the land will revert to the town, as noted in Selectboard member Kevin Hayes’ March 1 letter.

Please vote "yes" on Warrant Article 27.
