To The Daily Sun,
Was the First Amendment intended to be used to throw a state representative sanctioned cover over antisemitism? I certainly don't think so.
As a citizen who publicly and privately fights against the hatred Jewish communities unjustly receive, I am disheartened that any New Hampshire state representative would espouse or, worse, protect willing antisemitism by people who should know better.
Nobody stood up for Jews in Nazi Germany as Adolf Hitler and his goons murdered five to six million men, women and children.
Ilhan Omar has been allowed to say disgraceful things against this country and Jewish communities, she's been protected by members of both parties.
Nobody is standing up for the Jewish community in NYC.
We must stand up to the hatred Jews unjustly receive in America.
Our state representatives should be the first line of defense against the indefensible.
Our state senators should be standing with state reps., executive council members, and our governor against Jewish hatred.
I encourage everyone who feels the same way to send letters to the editor demanding that Laconia's local representation stand up for what's right no matter what. No matter what the First Amendment to the Constitution says, we have to live with one another and coexist, we can't do that if members of our society are gripped with fear for the next time hate comes their way; good and well intending people won't stand with them even though it's the right thing to do.
To those who must do better.
