Rep. Douglas Trottier: Running for Belmont selectboard to bring personal, professional experiences to local government

I am writing this letter to announce my candidacy for the Belmont Selectboard. As one of your current New Hampshire state representatives and fellow residents, I have the same interest in our community as many of you do. As your state representative, I have battled at the Statehouse and county delegation for the people of Belmont and your interests. I have fought for tax cuts, supported a fiscally conservative budget, and returned hundreds of thousands of dollars to our communities for tax relief. I worked endlessly to save one of our greatest county assets, Gunstock Mountain Resort, which brings revenue into our community and local businesses.

As a former business owner, I have managed employees, budgets, and business accounts. I was responsible for overseeing the entire operations and growth of the business while maintaining a fiscally responsible budget. I also served in a leadership position in the public sector. In the public sector, I oversaw the operations of a department, including responsible expenditure of the budget.

I am running to be your next selectboard member in Belmont, so I can bring my personal and professional experiences to our local government. I will continue to represent the best interest of the people in our community at the local level, as I do at the state and county levels. I will work with the other members of the board to ensure transparency of the board, lower taxes by reasonable spending of your hard-earned money, and provide a fiscally responsible budget.

On March 12, I ask for support to allow me the opportunity to serve as a member of the selectboard.
