Mary Pelchat: Elections officials work hard to keep the system honest

Where is the proof that our election system is broken? Simply repeating what one is currently being told by a certain "leader" isn't proof; and believing every word he spouts is simply laziness. Do independent own research. I don't believe Vladimir Putin even told him that. He's just, once again, keeping the mistrust of the U.S. Constitution going.

Yes, the Electoral College method of voting should be eliminated. A candidate should win simply by popular vote (the people speaking).

If readers really want to understand how the election system in the United States works, go work the polls. They'll see how it truly works and how hard elections officials work to keep the system honest. Bashing the election system we have, without knowing how it fully works and perhaps getting involved, is just more conspiracy theory. 

Expecting hand counts of ballots in every city and town leaves room for more errors than machine counting. Imagine having to work at voting polls for hours and hours and then having to sort every ballot and hand count them.

There is more room for human error than machine error. 

There are a lot of rules behind mail-in ballots which are strictly adhered to. 

Get the facts before believing anything Putin or Donald Trump try to get readers to believe.
