To The Daily Sun,

This year New Hampshire is falling further behind other New England states in addressing the need to curb fossil fuel pollution — and our Legislature is not rising to the challenge. It is astounding that the NH House "science" committee is chaired by a climate doubter who has no formal degree in the sciences. So far this year, he and other Republican members of his Science, Energy, & Technology Committee have voted along strict party lines to defeat critical legislation to reduce greenhouse gases, stem climate change, and save NH residents money. Furthermore, they have voted to enact energy policies that are short-sighted and expensive for our residents over the long term. Here's a partial list of the bills this committee has shamelessly bungled this session: HB 219, HB 224, HB 106, HB 189, HB 682, HCR 4, HB 306, HB 504 and HB 526.

Reader should please remind their NH House representatives and senators that ignoring the science behind global warming won't stand. Our grandchildren depend on it.
