To the Daily Sun
Letter writer Ms. Grasso needs to expand her research into masks. First, an earlier writer of a letter to this paper already detailed why Denis Rancourt’s information is not credible, please, everyone, go back and read that information.
Rancourt misrepresented the conclusions of all the studies he used to support his article. Read the research yourself. Second, and more important, please research the use of surgical masks and N-95s in health care. Why do personnel in the operating rooms, for example, wear masks? Also, why the wearing of masks (and other PPE equipment) by health care personnel when caring for infectious patients, whether bacteria, viral or other source of infection?
Why do immune comprised patients such as those undergoing chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant and other treatments wear masks when in public to protect themselves from the rest of us? Please, if you are going to educate the rest of us, educate yourself first using credible scientific sources of information. Pubmed is free and available to all for example. Check out the research on handwashing at the same time.
Wash your hands, keep your distance and wear a mask. Stop putting yourself and others at risk.
No shirt, no shoes, No mask, NO SERVICE.
