Jon Paul: It's now time for all troops to be pulled out of Iranian war

It is way past the time for all troops to be returned from the Iranian war, and no, this is not a “police action,” it is a war. Only 33% of Americans citizens support this war. A war in which we’ve lost too many of our young, brave troops, as well as subjected hundreds more to serious lifelong injuries and PTSD. A war in which the U.S. killed over a hundred Iranian school girls in just one missile strike and now it appears we struck a wedding party, killing more innocent civilians. This war has killed thousands of innocent Iranian civilians and critically damaged infrastructures of other friendly Arab nations in the region.

It is also rather telling that no other western countries joined in on this war, they were smart. Forget mission creep, this war will likely go on and on for some time, with no winners. With that in mind, we shouldn’t be putting our troops in harm's way there anymore. This war will not reduce the chances of Iran getting a nuke someday. If they want a bomb, they’ll get one, either through uranium enrichment or by buying one from North Korea or some other rouge state.

Putting aside the human cost, our weapons supply has been depleted on a war that costs the U.S. a mind boggling $500 million a day to carry out. We have already used 60% of our interceptor missile stockpiles and over 50% of our THAAD ballistic missiles. We cannot afford essential services for our own people but can magically come up with over $500 million a day to fight a proxy war? That’s ridiculous and criminal.

It's long past the time to pull out of this quagmire.
