To The Daily Sun,

I guess we can take Ms. Sheila Kufert at her word: “I live in a dream world”. I don’t know how else to better explain her continued justification for cruelty to the people of Gaza. Recently released data from Gallup shows that less than 50% of Americans have sympathetic views towards Israel regarding their war with Hamas. With that said, what Hamas inflicted on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, was horrific and inexcusable. However, the Israeli response has been too damaging on the civilian population of Gaza. On Nov. 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes, including the killing of women and children, murder, and the use of starvation as a method of warfare against the people of Gaza. Now, Israeli forces have killed another estimated 400 people including UN members and women and children in airstrikes in Gaza. This situation raises some pretty significant existential questions for the Israelis. Even if Israel completes its objective of removing Hamas, how does that play out in the long run and does that create a vacuum in which something worse than Hamas arises? I can't help but think that a lot of Muslim children are growing up watching these atrocities in Gaza and will become easily radicalized against Israel later in life. Israel must immediately establish, and maintain, safe corridors in Gaza to better protect the civilian population and allow aid in (un-harassed) during this ongoing conflict. And how does supporting less suffering for Gazans and Palestinians make somebody "anti-Israel"?
