Ashlyn Bean: Supporting Tim Minor for District 5 representative in city

I have known Tim Minor my entire life, and long before he decided to run for office, I knew him as someone who cared deeply about Laconia and the people who live here.

Many residents know Tim through his rental properties. Others recognize him from seeing him clean up parks, public spaces and the aftermath of homeless encampments throughout the city. Over the years, I have watched Tim step in when something needed to be done, whether anyone was watching or not.

His experience as a property owner has also given him firsthand exposure to the challenges surrounding housing. He understands the taxes, maintenance costs and responsibilities involved in providing rental housing, while also seeing how difficult it has become for many people to find housing they can afford.

His work around homeless encampments has exposed him to another side of that same problem and its effects on individuals, neighborhoods and public spaces.

Those experiences are part of what Tim would bring to the Statehouse: a willingness to listen, an understanding that difficult problems are rarely one-sided, and an appreciation for how decisions made in Concord ultimately affect people here at home.

Tim is also a devoted family man who loves sharing Laconia and the Lakes Region with his grandchildren.

What means the most to me is simple: Tim did not become involved in Laconia because he decided to run for office. He decided to run for office after years of being involved in Laconia.

As District 5 voters consider the candidates this November, Tim’s years of contributing to this community show the experience and perspective he would bring to the Statehouse.
