WEIRS BEACH — City police are investigating a phone call someone made, threatening to blow up Funspot earlier this month.

Two male teens were doing donuts and burnouts in the Funspot parking lot on the evening of June 11. An employee asked them to leave, and told them they were not welcome back. After they were asked to leave, at 8:08 p.m., Funspot received a phone call from a young male asking to speak with the manager.

“The male said on the phone, ‘We’re going to blow up your crew. We’re going to blow up your spot,’” Police Chief Matt Canfield said. “We believe that the two are connected, and we’re currently investigating that.”

Canfield said he believes the two young men were just visiting Funspot, and did not have any previous issues with employees at the arcade, nor was there a genuine threat.

Funspot remained open throughout the incident, and after the threat, and no one was harmed. No one has been charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
