WEIRS BEACH — Miss Winnipesaukee 2026 Emma Polyukhovich and Miss Winnipesaukee Teen 2026 Nylah Guerin are hosting a paint night fundraiser this weekend, to support the American Heart Association.
The event takes place at Funspot Bingo Hall on Friday, Oct. 9.
The Miss America Opportunity organization partners with the American Heart Association, asking all Miss America contestants to raise money for the cause in order to compete for their respective state titles.
“This fundraiser will be supporting the AHA, as well as [Guerin] and I’s journeys to the Miss New Hampshire stage,” Polyukhovich said.
The Miss Winnipesaukee Scholarship program is the longest-running local precursor pageant for the Miss America system in the United States. The program was established in 1925. Polyukhovich was crowned the 102nd Miss Winnipesaukee in August.
Polyukhovich believes in Miss America’s partnership with the American Heart Association.
“Heart disease is actually the leading cause of death for women in the United States, accounting for about one in every five female deaths, [which is] something people may not know,” Polyukhovich said.
Polyukhovich is currently a sophomore at Boston University, and has earned over $65,000 in scholarships from the Miss America organization.
“It's something I'm immensely grateful for,” Polyukhovich said. “The Miss America Opportunity is a really great organization. So, I think that this would be a great opportunity for people to learn about it, as well.”
The fundraiser is at Funspot Bingo Hall, 579 Endicott St. N. All painting supplies will be provided. Food will be donated for the event by Hart's Turkey Farm restaurant in Meredith.
Doors open at 5.30 p.m., and the class will start at 6 p.m. Participation is by donation.
“We're really excited for this event,” Polyukhovich said. “We're just hoping to have a good evening. It'll be a fun time. It'll be a nice, relaxing fall evening, and we're also raising money for a very important cause.”
