BELMONT — The Belmont Selectboard will select a representative to attend an upcoming Winnipesaukee River Basin Program site visit along with Business of Economic Affairs and Northern Border Regional Commission representatives, during their 6 p.m. meeting on Wednesday.
The site visit will take place at Belmont’s pump station at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17. The selectboard member selected will join Public Works Director Brian Jackes in representing the town.
“WRBP applied for and received a grant, and was awarded $2 million to go toward the force main that needs to be replaced,” Alicia Jipson, town administrator, wrote via email. The site visit gives the opportunity to hear about the project’s progress and celebrate the grant.
During the meeting, the board will hear an update on the auction for 200 Daniel Webster Hwy, the building that houses China Garden. The town held an auction for the property Jan. 30, and the property sold for $700,000 to local developer Kevin Hutchinson, president of KMH Realty Corp., who said he purchased the property to ensure the restaurant would remain there.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, the Heritage Commission will present their 2026 Community Awards.
The board meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the Belmont Mill. The following meeting will be in the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 4. For more information, visit belmontnh.gov.
