A Belmont driver was arrested Sunday traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 93.

New Hampshire State Police received reports of a vehicle traveling in the incorrect lane on I-93 around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle was initially spotted in the town of Ashland and was reported to be a small sedan traveling south in the northbound lanes, according to a press release from state police.

An officer from the Tilton Police Department located and stopped the vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, near exit 20. State troopers arrived shortly after and took over the investigation. Following a roadside investigation, Elisha D. Moore, 29, of Belmont, was arrested and charged with felony reckless conduct. Moore was transported to the Tilton Police Department and later released on her own promise to appear in court. Her court date in Belknap County Superior Court is not yet set.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the vehicle’s operation or has further information to contact Trooper Christopher Abbate at christopher.j.abbate@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-4381.
