GILFORD — Police have identified the person whose body was found near the Hillside Medical Park on Sunday.
Gilford Police Chief Kris Kelley identified the dead woman as Rebecca Shambo, age 26.
“At this point it is an untimely death and we are waiting for results from the autopsy to determine her cause of death,” Kelley said in an email Thursday. On Tuesday Kelley reported there were no signs of foul play and that there was no reason for public concern.
Shambo was a Belmont resident, according to her obituary, which appeared in Thursday’s Daily Sun.
She attended Belmont High School, according to her Facebook page, and enjoyed writing and art.
Landscapers discovered Shambo’s body next to the parking lot of the medical facility which is situated on Maple Street, off Route 11A (Gilford Avenue).
