PLYMOUTH — Rhonda Knowlton Fahrner, 67, passed away on Dec. 23, 2024, at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.

Rhonda was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (née Potter) Knowlton. She was born in Laconia on June 28, 1957. Rhonda grew up in Ashland. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1975. Rhonda was a member of the Class S Champion Softball Team in 1975.

She studied culinary arts at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Berlin, working toward her lifelong dream of being a chef and baker. After graduating, Rhonda fulfilled that passion working at many different restaurants and food establishments, including the Portland Country Club, Summerfields, the King’s Grant Inn, and the Common Man Family of Restaurants.

Rhonda later went back to further her education in the culinary and business fields at Lakes Region Community College. She shared her love of culinary and baking through teaching at LRCC and Food For Thought Café in Belmont. She also spent time teaching at Huot Career and Technical Center at Laconia High School. She later became the food and beverage director for the M/S Mount Washington. Rhonda also spent time catering events for various families and businesses around the Lakes Region. She worked part-time as a baker for Circle K Store in New Hampton up until her passing.

Rhonda loved soap operas, knitting, baking, spending time with family and friends, and taking trips to coastal Maine. She also loved animals, spending time with her dog, a shitzu named Maggie.

Though culinary was a big passion for her, what she found to be her biggest and most important role in her life was that of being a mother to her daughter Ericha. Rhonda had a deep passion for cooking which she shared with anyone and everyone she met. She was kind and compassionate, known for her big heart, and served as a caregiver to family members.

Rhonda was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Helen Knowlton.

She is survived by her daughter Ericha Fahrner of Concord, sister Kelly Avery (Lee) of Ashland, nephews Christopher and Justin Avery (Alyssa and children Camden and Hadley) of Ashland, as well as other relatives and lifelong friends.
