GILFORD — It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our mother, Mary Ellen Wagner, who left us peacefully on Dec. 6, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Mom was 81 years old and had been bravely fighting many health challenges for years. Through it all, she remained the strongest, kindest, most loving person we knew. She was the heart of our family, our guide, our matriarch, and our example of what grace, strength, and unconditional love truly look like.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, and raised in Gilford, Mom spent her life building a beautiful legacy with our dad, Werner, her husband of 52 years. Together they ran a well-respected ski lift business and later a travel agency, touching countless lives with their hard work, generosity, and warmth. Mom was admired not only by her family, but by friends, clients, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
We find comfort knowing she is now reunited with Dad, the love of her life.
We will share details about a celebration of her life at a later time. For now, we are grateful for your love, support and prayers.
Rest in peace, Mom. You will be forever loved and missed. — Wes, Heidi, and our families
