MEREDITH — The Meredith Bay Barbershop Harmony Jamboree will take place on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 15-19, at the Meredith Community Center, with singing planned on Meredith Bay and all around the town.

Singers will gather from all around the Northeast and Canada, for a variety of musical activities. Attendees can join in the fun through watching performances and informal opportunities to learn from the singers.

Friday night there will be a dinner at the Meredith Community Center followed by singing. Saturday morning a miniature golf tournament will take place at Pirate’s Cove. The “Great Gathering” Show will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday night at the Meredith Community Center featuring a cappella performances by quartets and choruses. Then a Saturday night “afterglow” with food and more performances will follow.

Throughout the weekend, visitors’ll find mini-performances at local shops and restaurants, as well as an open mic at Hesky Park.

For those who like to sing, there's an easy way--just walk up to any barbershopper, say “Can you teach me a tag? or attend a free tag singing workshop at Meredith Community Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. Another opportunity is to attend a short rehearsal and then sing with the Everyone in Harmony Chorus during the Saturday night show.
