LACONIA — Granite VNA is partnered with area libraries to offer balance workshops focused on reducing the fear of falling.

Healthy Steps for Older Adults — a falls prevention workshop to help older adults learn how to protect themselves and live life free from the fear of falling — will be held at Gilford Public Library on Thursdays, April 10, from noon to 2 p.m. and April 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Balance screenings are Thursday, April 10 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

A Matter of Balance is an eight-week program which will take place at Sanbornton Public Library, on Tuesdays beginning April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn to view falls and the fear of falling as controllable, change the environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.

To register for either program, call 603-224-4093 or 800-924-8620, ext. 85664 or visit granitevna.org.
