MEREDITH — The residents of the Hundred Acre Wood will come to life in Meredith when the Winnipesaukee Playhouse presents the children’s musical “Winnie-the-Pooh.” The Playhouse’s Professional Theatre for Young Audiences program is now in its third year, once again providing a high-quality production of a beloved children’s story for audiences of all ages.

Based on the stories by A.A. Milne, the frolicsome musical features everyone’s favorite bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, and his friends Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, and Owl as they set out on one very busy day. There’s a Heffalump to catch, Eeyore’s tail to find, not to mention a misunderstanding between Rabbit and Kanga to sort out.

Directed by Timothy L’Ecuyer with music direction by Susie Jolink, the production welcomes back Robert Hooghkirk, Nick Winkler, and Grace Gilbert, who were all featured in last year’s production of “A Year with Frog and Toad.” Hooghkirk, a familiar face to Playhouse audiences, takes on the roles of Eeyore and Kanga. Gilbert will play Piglet, Roo, and Owl while Wivnkler takes on the bear himself, Winnie-the-Pooh. They are joined by Bradyn Parmelly who is new to the Playhouse and will appear as Christopher Robin and Rabbit.

Performances will take place on Saturdays, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. Tickets are available, at winnipesaukeeplayhouse.org.
