Powerhouse Theatre Collaborative will hold auditions on Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3, for its summer production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Powerhouse is looking for performers 6-years-old and older to fill out the large cast.
Director Bryan Halperin is planning a unique theater experience, which includes room for many ensemble members, which will be broken into “larger time commitment” and “smaller time commitment” ensembles based on actor availability.
For those who'd like a hint to the director's concept, Fiddler will be produced in conjunction with Powerhouse's Spark series staged reading of The Immigrant by Mark Harelick in September.
In addition to Halperin as director, the production team consists of Courtney Palmer as the assistant director/producer, Jillian Spring as vocal director, Meg King as choreographer, Sherry Gardner as stage manager, Johanna Halperin as producer and many other members who have been part of Powerhouse’s award-winning productions.
Bryan and Johanna Halperin met in a college production of Fiddler on the Roof and have been waiting a long time to do the show with their NH theatre family.
Bryan said, “To say we are excited to produce this show would be a drastic understatement. We have so many personal connections to this story and we hope to share our love for this musical with our cast and community. We promise this will be a Fiddler production unlike any other you may have seen so come audition and be part of it.”
