CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will attend a scheduled selectboard meeting in Tuftonboro to present information on the proposed replacement of the stone box culvert carrying Twentymile Brook under Middle Road, Route 109A, in Tuftonboro. The meeting will be held at the Tuftonboro Town Office, 240 Middle Road (Route 109A), on Monday, June 24 at 5 p.m.
The purpose of this project is to replace the existing aged 3.5-foot wide by six-foot high stone box culvert. Narrowness of the roadway and depth of culvert, offer challenges to the project. This meeting will present project details and discuss preferred traffic control during construction. Citizens and public officials will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts regarding existing deficiencies.
An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under the National Historic Preservation Act. Additional information will be provided at the meeting.
