MEREDITH — The Shop Main Street group announces a new outdoor piano for Main Street. The piano unveiling will take place on Friday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m., in the new courtyard at 51 Main St., during the Winnipesaukee Art First Friday Art Walk.
“This beautifully painted piano is a wonderful addition to Main Street,” said Amy Grimm, Shop Main Street member and owner of 51 Main Street. “It’s yet another reason to visit our historic center of town.”
The piano was found and sanded by Paul Moreau, co-owner of Hale & Moreau Gallery. It was then painted with stunning colors and New Hampshire scenery by Marilee Sundius and two young art students, Troy and Talia Smith.
“The kids did a great job. Their additions really add to this wonderful creation,” said Marilee Sundias, owner of Artistic Exploration. “We’re so pleased with how it looks, and we are excited for many future nights of having Main Street filled with music.”
The piano will usually be open for anyone to sit down and play, and there will also be organized performances at the location. The piano will be covered during bad weather. Shop Main Street would like to give an extra special thank you to Miracle Farms for doing the masonry work around the piano site.
Shop Main Street is a group of small, local businesses in Meredith who have come together to support and enhance historic Main Street.
