GILFORD — The Friends of the Gilford Public Library is joining libraries and communities across the nation to celebrate the annual National Friends of the Libraries Week from Oct. 18-24.
The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit that aids the library in numerous ways: fundraising, volunteering, and much more beyond.
“Our Friends group is the backbone of many extra programs and services we provide to our patrons,” said Library Director Katherine Dormody. “We encourage everyone in the community to thank a friend, attend an upcoming event or program, or sign up to become a member."
In recognition of their efforts, they were recently awarded New Hampshire Library Trustee Association’s annual Sue Palmatier Award for Outstanding Support by a “Friends of the Library” Group.
