MOULTONBOROUGH — The Moultonborough Board of Selectmen have announced the appointment of Daniel G. Sturgeon of Moultonborough, as the new town recreation director effective April 22.
Dan joined the Moultonborough Recreation Department in 2010 as a summer camp counselor, achieving the title of “Recking Crew” supervisor the following summer. By 2011, Dan was a year-round recreation department employee, assisting in the planning and running of programs for all ages. In 2012, Dan was named the recreation assistant director and youth sport coordinator.
A Moultonborough native, Dan met the love of his life Ashley right here in town. They married, made a home here and started a family with their beautiful daughter Kennedy.
From coaching our youngest athletes and refereeing their games, to summer camp counselor and after school programs, up through driving the bus for senior and adult trips and even swinging a mean pickleball racket — Dan has served Moultonborough and every segment of our community. He does so with skill, humor, humility, and good will for all. The Recreation Department and the Town can look forward to a bright and exciting future.
