GILFORD —Gilford Youth Center will host the 14th annual Turkey Trot 5k Race and Family Walk on Thursday, Nov. 25.

“What began as a small group of locals getting together for a morning run on Thanksgiving morning has turned into an annual event with over 400 people from throughout New England,” said Director Scott Hodsdon. “It is a great way to start your holiday.”

The first 100 to register receive a long-sleeved event shirt.

According to Pastor Michael Graham of Gilford Community Church, the “best part” about the popular holiday event is the joy he sees on participants’ faces.

“This is an event for everyone and all ages, which is the theme of our church, too,” he said. “If you are not aware of our church or our youth center, this is a great event where you can get a sense for this inclusive, welcoming community.”
