LACONIA — TRIP Senior Center and Lakes Region Creative Aging Center will be presenting Tai Chi 101 classes at both locations. On Mondays and Thursdays, the class will run 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Lakes Region Creative Aging Center, and Mondays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at TRIP Senior Center in Franklin. 

Session 1 will run April 22-May 31, and Session 2 is June 3-July 18. Sessions are $70 each. Registration is required in advance.

Ben Low will lead students in this program. The program is complete with basic, foundational practices of Tai Chi form work and two-person practice. The program will introduce the principles of rooting, releasing, pulsing, spiraling, alignment, and flow through stance and posture work, Tai Chi walking practices, and selected movements from the classical Yang Tai Chi forms. The program is appropriate for students of all ages and levels of physical ability. The program is a total of three months long, and will be offered in six-week blocks. Participants should start at the beginning of the course. The next course after this will start in July.
