The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, based in the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, operates a youth aviation outreach program, which includes high school student plane-building programs at high schools in Manchester and Lebanon. The organization was recently awarded tax credits from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority to bring this unique hands-on learning experience to Farmington High School. Meredith Village Savings Bank is supporting the expansion by purchasing $5,000 in tax credits.
“Through this program, students collaborate to build a full-scale flyable aircraft — teaching them engineering skills, teamwork and real-word problem-solving as they bring the plane to life,” said Jeff Rapsis, Aviation Museum of NH executive director. “Thanks to community support, we’re thrilled to be able to expand this unique opportunity and inspire the next generation of aviators.”
“The Aviation Museum provides tremendous hands-on experiences to our local students and opens their eyes to future education and career possibilities,” said Nicole Ames, MVSB mortgage loan officer.
“We are thrilled to support the expansion of this program to the Farmington community.”
