LACONIA -- U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte visited Orion Entrance Control Inc. in Laconia recently.
Ayotte, who is running for re-election, participated in a round-table discussion with employees and learned about Orion's process for making security turnstiles for building entrances. Currently, Orion is working on a project for the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord.
"I had a great discussion with Orion President Steve Caroselli and the rest of his team about the excellent work they do as a New Hampshire small business," Ayotte said. "New Hampshire is lucky to have thriving small businesses – including Orion.
"Orion's work is also important to the safety and security of the American people, and I have been proud to support measures that would level the playing field and allow New Hampshire small businesses to more easily participate in the federal contracting system," said Ayotte, who serves on the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.
As a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees, Ayotte introduced the Transportation Security Acquisition Reform Act which was signed into law in December 2014.
