Unified Basketball Jamboree in Belmont this Saturday

By ROGER AMSDEN, LACONIA DAILY NEWS

BELMONT — While the temperatures will be frigid outside, this Saturday’s Unified Basketball Jamboree will bring plenty of warmth, smiles and laughter inside the Belmont High School gym. This entertaining indoor activity is perfect for the entire family. Fans are invited to come and support high school athletes with and without intellectual disabilities as they compete in the 4th Annual Lakes Region Unified Basketball Jamboree.

The event will be held at Belmont High School on Saturday, Jan. 6, with the first game scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics New Hampshire. There is a nominal admission fee charged of $2 for students/senior citizens and $3 for adults.

The jamboree continues to expand again this year with eight high school teams coming together for friendly competition: Belmont, Berlin, Winnisquam, Prospect Mountain, Newfound, Inter-Lakes, Gilford and White Mountains.

Raffle tickets will be sold and the Chuck-a-Bag competitions will once again occur throughout the day. Food and drink will also be available for purchase.

Those with questions can contact Cassie Contigiani at 581-9820.
