Wolves to host Salute to First Responders games

For the second year, the New England Wolves will host a pair of Salute to First Responders games at Merrill Fay Arena on Saturday, Oct. 19. First is an EHLP matchup between the Wolves and the Worcester Railers at 3:30 p.m. Donations collected during the game will be for the Laconia Fire Department and the Thin Blue Line Foundation. Police officers and firefighters will stand with the starting lineup during the national anthem, sung by a vocal group from Laconia High School, and player introductions. The EHL game will be a military appreciation benefit, with donations collected for local VFWs and the Wounded Warrior Project. At 6:30 p.m.,  the EHL puck will drop as the Wolves take on the Boston Junior Rangers. Servicemen will make a flag presentation prior to the national anthem, and stand with players during introductions. The Marine Corps hymn will play as players take the ice, and a presentation by Wolves ownership of an autographed jersey to service members present will occur during intermission.
