Guided paddle with Squam Lakes Association May 18

Join the Squam Lakes Association for an educational day of kayaking, canoeing, water sampling and algae identification. On Saturday, May 18, from noon-3 p.m., the kayaking and canoeing trip will start at SLA Headquarters, 534 U.S. Route 3 in Holderness, and get as close to Cotton Cove as possible. The program was created with kids in mind from the ages eight to 14, but anyone interested is welcome. The program is designed to get kids thinking about what is in the water that cannot be seen. Bring waterproof and quick-drying clothing, snacks and water. Participants should be prepared to paddle for two hours. The program is subject to change due to weather conditions. For more information or to sign up, visit squamlakes.org, or call 603-968-7336. Advance registration is requested; space is limited. (Courtesy photo)
