NEW HAMPTON — William Joseph Riley, 90, of New Hampton, died on May 23, 2016, of liver cancer. He was born August 3, 1925 and was a cadre instructor in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Before the Army, Riley was a roller skating instructor. He was a ballroom dance instructor specializing in group instruction for 30 years. He was a former board member and past president of Dance Education of America. He taught group ballroom at the Boston YMCA and the Newton YMCA for many years.
Riley was manager of a parking garage company in Boston for ten years. He was owner and manager at the Country Lake Lodge, a small resort motel in Hyannis, Massachusetts, for ten years. He was manager of a timeshare resort in Hyannis, Massachusetts, for ten years. After retirement, he continued to work for 11 years at Muncie's Convenience Store in New Hampton.
He leaves his beloved wife Barbara Seavey Riley of 60 years, of New Hampton, and his step-daughter, Judith E. Boone, of Rhode Island.

A service with military honors will be held graveside on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery (exit 17, Route 93, telephone: 603-796-2026) in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
