Thomas L. DiFonzo

LACONIA — Thomas “Tom” L. DiFonzo, 49, of Elm Street, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack.

Tom was born on Nov. 2, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Charles A. and Margaret C. (Metrano) DiFonzo. He had lived in the Lakes Region for the past 20 years.

Tom was a golf course superintendent for the Laconia Country Club. He was a member for 30 years of the Golf Course Superintendents of America and the New Hampshire Golf Course Superintendents Association for 20 years.

Tom was a communicant of the St. Andre Bessette Parish in Laconia.

Survivors include three daughters, Emily M. DiFonzo,  Anna L. DiFonzo, and Grace C. DiFonzo, all of Auburn; his father, Charles A. DiFonzo, of Bedford; two brothers, Charles A. DiFonzo Jr., of Lynn, Massachusetts, and Paul F. DiFonzo, of Medway, Massachusetts; a sister, Margaret A. Collins, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; and three nieces and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret C. DiFonzo.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at the St. Andre Bessette Parish Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery on Garfield Street in Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack NH 03054.
