LACONIA — Robert E. Joyal, 70, of Old North Main Street, died on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home.
Bob was born October 20, 1951 in Laconia, NH, to Edward and Beatrice (Couture) Joyal.
He was a lifelong resident of Laconia, graduating from Laconia High School. He received his Associates Degree from Lakes Region Community College. Bob was employed by Needham Electric for 50 years as an Outside Sales Representative. Bob served on the Board of Laconia Parks and Recreation Commission. He was a former Scout Master for Troop 68 and coached Laconia Little League baseball and Lakes Region Youth Hockey.
Bob was a low key, caring and compassionate kind of guy. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, ice fishing, and reading any and all newspapers he could get his hands on. His favorite activities in the summers were in Maine walking the beaches, collecting sea glass and keeping everyone warm with his famous popcorn and bonfires and during the winters he hosted his homemade pizza parties for family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Denise (Pelletier) Joyal; sons, Jamie S. Joyal, of Waterville Valley, NH, and Corey R. Joyal, and his wife Alexandra, of Guilford, VT; grandchildren, Brayden S. Joyal, Greeley, CO, Ava S. Joyal and Harrison R. Joyal, of Guilford, VT; daughter-in-law, Penny Joyal, Manchester, NH; and his brother, Rodney Joyal, and Margaret, of Eddington, ME. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Kimberly (Clayton) Sargent, Belmont, NH; nieces, Megan Sargent, Jennifer Dalrymple, and Thane Joyal; and nephews, Jacob Sargent, Ryan Sargent, and J. Michael Joyal Jr. He will be missed by many very close friends and relatives, as well as his "Lunch Bunch" crew. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother James Joyal.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the spring at St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Graveside burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
