FRANKLIN — Jeannette Rucker, 87, a longtime resident of Franklin, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, following a period of failing health.
Jeannette was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Aug. 8, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor (Duplaga) Kus. She spent her youth and schooled in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Prior to moving to Franklin, she had resided in Sanbornton for several years.
Jeannette worked as a typesetter of many years with Tyler Press in Laconia and later with Northern Telecom. She enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served 18 months during the Korean Conflict, discharged as a CTSN. She was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
Jeannette was married to her late husband, Bibb Rucker, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her interests included her crafts.
A soft-spoken lady, Jeannette enjoyed sharing her many kindnesses with her special family and friends.
She was a faithful member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Tilton.
She leaves her sons, Michael C. Rucker and his wife, Deborah, of Franklin, Stephen J. Rucker and his wife, Anne Marie, of Carmichael, California, and Joel E. Rucker of Colchester, Connecticut; grand- and great-grandchildren; brothers Theodore Kus and David Kus of Old Lyme, Connecticut; as well as nieces and nephews.
Respecting Jeannette’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 128 School St., Tilton, with Dr. Chester Kulus, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will be held following the service at 1 p.m. at the family lot in Franklin Cemetery, Thompson Park, in Franklin.
