LACONIA —Prescott Farm has been offering monthly workshops as part of their “We Can Do It” Series: Traditional Homesteading Skills for the Modern Family. Workshops are designed for families to participate in together. Participants will gain valuable homesteading skills that will save them money, lessen their impact on the environment all while strengthening their family bond.

Interested in having your own chickens? Come learn how to start and care for your own flock at Prescott Farm on Saturday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Saturday, July 8; 10 a.m. to noon: Butter & Cheese Making

Saturday, Aug.  5; 10 a.m. to noon: Basic Woodworking

Saturday, Sept.  9; 10 a.m. to noon: Baking Bread

Saturday, October 28; 10 a.m. to noon: Sheep to Sweater

The cost to participate in this workshop is $12 ($10 Members of Prescott Farm)/person with pre-registration; $15 at the door. Pre-registration is available at or by calling 366-5695.
