Army Band plays Belknap Mill Thursday, July 20

 

LACONIA — The Belknap Mill will present the 39th Army Band NH National Guard on Thursday, July 20, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Rotary Riverside Park and Gazebo located behind the Mill. This concert series is sponsored by the Putnam Fund to provide the citizens of the greater Laconia area the opportunity to gather and enjoy musical talents in the heart of downtown Laconia. This is a free event that is open to the public.

“We encourage you to bring the family, a picnic dinner and your lawn chairs and enjoy the music and relax,” said Events and Program Coordinator Jennifer McLean.

The 39th Army Band NH National Guard has represented the United States of America overseas on missions that have included St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Athens, Greece and as Good Will Ambassadors to the country of Costa Rica in July 1995. The band is comprised of musicians representing many communities throughout the state who are dedicated soldiers and whose high standards of performance is respected and anticipated wherever they play. The band performs military marches, pop and jazz music.
