HOLDERNESS — The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center and the Squam Lakes Association will co-host a special "Taking Care of Squam" cruise on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will learn how the SLA monitors the second largest lake in New Hampshire and discover the unique challenges presented by this body of water and what strategies have been used to combat them. Participants will also have the opportunity to see Millie, the milfoil control boat, featuring the Diver Assisted Suction Harvester, in action. They will even be able to try their hand at water quality testing.

The fee for this event is $23 per member and $27 per non-member. Anyone ages 12 and above is welcome to participate. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
