LACONIA — Leadership Lakes Region successfully completed its History and Culture Program Day, providing participants with an immersive experience into the unique heritage of the Lakes Region. The program connected the current class to the people and institutions that have shaped the area.

The day began at Meredith Village Savings Bank with a welcome and a presentation on the bank's history. The morning featured historical talks: Kathy Fairman of the Wolfeboro Trolley Company who discussed Wolfeboro's past, and John Cirello, president of the Tilton Historical Society, shared insights on the NH Veterans Home and the iconic Tilton statues. The class then participated in a Laconia's Historical Scavenger Hunt, led by Class of 2025 Alumni Tara Shore and Robin Moyer, followed by lunch.

The afternoon centered on Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center. Executive Director Jude Hamel and Director Sophie Acampora shared the farm's history. Environmental Educator Mary Doyle then led The Big Tree Tour, a walk focused on land stewardship. The visit concluded with a look at Prescott’s current mission.
