FRANKLIN — Teams wanting to register for the 25th annual Franklin Savings Bank Softball Tournament for Charity must do so by Friday, Aug. 24.
The tournament will run from Wednesday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 28, at Odell Park in Franklin. All proceeds will be donated to local cancer treatment centers.
Teams are co-ed, and participants must be 13 years of age or older to play. The team registration fee of $250 covers all the expenses incurred for the concession, umpires and field maintenance.
The bank has sponsored the tournament since 1994, raising more than $79,000 for organizations such as the American Red Cross, community food pantries and soup kitchens, Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education programs and other youth drug prevention programs, Greater Tilton Area Family Resource Center, Lakes Region Habitat for Humanity, local hospice programs, and the Northern Rail Trail and Winnisquam, Opechee & Winnipesaukee (WOW) Trail.
Donations are welcome and will receive acknowledgement throughout the 10-day event.
