Open House on June 19

Join Melcher & Prescott Insurance on June 19 from 4-6 p.m. for an open house at their renovated offices at 426 Main St. in Laconia. The open house is a celebration of M&P’s commitment to the community, staff and clients.

Planning for the renovations began in the spring of 2018. Themes that shaped the design and priorities of the project were creating an office that employees look forward to spending time in, creating a modern work environment that is ergonomically designed and efficient, improving energy efficiency, and designing an exterior that enhances the entrance to the City of Laconia.

To minimize disruption to staff and clients, the interior renovation was completed first, wrapping up in October 2018. Highlights of the interior remodel include motorized standing work stations, energy-efficient LED lighting, and increased natural light into the interior of the building with new interior windows. With the remodel, all departments, managers, and executives are now located in the same area. The new space eliminated physical barriers between departments and creates an environment focused on collaboration.

A primary goal of the remodel project was to improve the appearance of the downtown Laconia intersection, with the hope of inspiring others to do the same. A year later, the intersection is flanked by a renovated hotel, a renovation in progress, and the remodeled Melcher & Prescott building, with a fresh facade, updated landscaping and nighttime LED lights.
