GILFORD -- Visiting Angels, a provider of assisted living services for seniors, has opened its newest franchise, here in Gilford.

ilford: November 1, 2017 – Baby boomers are blossoming into a new stage of life. The U.S Census projects 8,000 people are hitting the 65-year-old mark every day. Many relatives of those baby boomers are faced with the challenge of how to care for an aging loved one. The need for private duty in-home care is higher now than ever as more Americans transition into their golden years.

The new location, owned and operated by Debra and Ron Desrosiers, provides non-medical senior homecare to help the elderly continue to live in their homes. The new Visiting Angels location is located in the Gilford Professional Park, 401 Gilford Ave., Unit 208.

Visiting Angels of Gilford is New Hampshire’s fourth Visiting Angels location. The Desrosiers opened the first Visiting Angels in New Hampshire in 2004 and have served several thousands of families in the Greater Manchester, Derry and Concord area. Debra and Ron wanted to expand operations and saw the Lakes Region as a desirable area to serve.

“The state of New Hampshire is one of the top three states with the oldest population of aging citizens. I feel it is important to give families choices for care. Our agency has been given a Leader in Excellence award by Homecare Pulse and the Lakes Region would be a special place to expand our operations,” said Ron Desrosiers.

“We do serve as angels, helping with basic chores, personal hygiene, meal preparation, shopping, and companionship and providing a respite for family caregivers,” Debra Desrosiers said.
